About

Lactose intolerance is not a disease. It is, however, a condition one must learn to live with. In Israel I found it easy to adapt since most food is labelled Kosher and you can immediately learn whether it contains lactose.

Recently, however, I came across a medicine that contained lactose as inactive ingredient – which didn’t stop it from causing me two days of great discomfort. Then another incident happened – a girl who was allergic to milk died having eaten a pastry that came in touch with a cheese pastry inside the same box. This was another example of how little the public knew of milk allergy. I decided to do something about it.

If you can read Hebrew, please visit my website – www.lactose.co.il. This blog will be updated more frequently with information on lactose intolerance from around the world. Drop me a line or email me with requests. My goal is to get the word out there, as much as possible. Michal
